About Mrs. Dunn
Mrs. Dunn has been working in education since 2002. While attending California State University, Fullerton for her Bachelor of Science in Child and Adolescent Development and teaching credential she worked as an instructional assistant for three years and began a position as a substitute teacher. After receiving her credential, she began her career in the Irvine school district and this is now her fifth year teaching at Canyon View.
Because of her passion for continuing education and lifelong learning she is always looking for opportunities to challenge herself and grow professionally. During her first two years as a teacher, she completed her Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment Induction, as well as returned to school to complete a GATE certificate. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Science in Educational Technology and is excited to share her knowledge and integrate technology into the 4th grade curriculum. In addition to formal education, she also enjoys attending professional development training, such as iPads in Education, Jr. Great Books, FactsWise, and GATE conferences, among others.
While Mrs. Dunn is not in the classroom she spends time camping and relaxing in front of a campfire. On the weekends she also enjoys going SCUBA diving in Laguna Beach, or going on a motorcycle ride through the local canyons. Going on hikes is another way she stays active and experiences nature. For more civilized entertainment, she loves going to Disneyland and the movies, or unwinding with a book or podcast.
